20 GHSC members joined 20 members of Glendale Golf and Country Club on September 22nd, 2019 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Glendale's founding with a hickory golf scramble.

The day started with an ample lunch, featuring British-style pies.

After lunch, players teed off, in very hot conditions, with a strong wind. The greens were running at a good speed. Advanced tees were placed to accomodate ladies and those over 75. All others played from the red tees - making quite a long course for hickories (and very hilly, too).

After play, participants gathered for appetizers and drinks, and prizes were awarded, enabling everyone to get on the road in good time.

The winning team in the scramble was Donna Craig, Rob Craig, Lorne Emery and Jeff Forgrave, with an impressive score of 61, 11 under par.

Men's Closest to the Pin on Hole #2 was won by Adrian Buis.

Ladies Closest to the Pin on Hole #9 was won by Susan Vance.

Men's Long Drive on Hole #11 was won by GHSC Treasurer, former Glendale Pro, and Event Organizer for the day, Ian Clarke.

Ladies Long Drive on Hole #11 was won by Lori Gabriele.

A great day was had by all. Thanks for all the support of the GHSC members and the club members who played.

Thanks, once again, to Frank Collis for his fabulous work taking pictures, at this event, and throughout the year.
