GHSC News Item: July 12, 2022 – In Memorium (2022)

Reported by: George Supol, GHSC Board Member

It is with great sadness that GHSC reports the passing yesterday of two of its long-time members, Norman Moreau and Bill Stewart. They were 94 and 91 years young, respectively.

Norm Moreau was the last living founder of GHSC. He was President of GHSC from 1993 to 2002 and is survived by his wife, Noi Moreau, an enthusiastic hickory player in her own right.

Norm’s service will be at Marshall’s Funeral Home, 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill. Visitation is between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 13, 2022 followed by a service from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Bill Stewart, a long-time member of Dundas Valley Golf Club, contributed to the running of many fine hickory events at GHSC. He passed peacefully in hospital, with family present. Details of funeral arrangements for Bill are available here.

Both Norm and Bill are well recognized and appreciated for their contributions to GHSC over their many years of membership in the Society. They will both be dearly missed.
