GHSC News Item: February 27, 2022 – Passing of Doug Marshall (2022)

We are sad to report that Doug Marshall, a GHSC Board Member, has recently passed at age 84.

Doug’s contributions to GHSC’s success over the years were significant and this is recognized by his presence on our Wall of Recognition. We honour and thank Doug for his service as a GHSC Past President, Board Member and Historian. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

The picture on the left was one of Doug’s favourites and he selected it for his own Member Profile. As our historian, Doug wrote the Early Golf History in Canada section of this website.

The U.S. Society of Hickory Golfers (SOHG) has posted a very nice article about Doug’s life here. The GHSC will in due course determine an appropriate way to recognize Doug’s memory.
